How To Prevent Water Pollution

Water pollution is a big problem in the world today, factories and individuals who dump trash into the rivers, streams, and oceans are the leading cause. Learning how to prevent water pollution is an effort in the right direction, but it will take a joint effort from everyone to combat the problem. The first place to start is teaching the industries how to properly dispose of their trash and stop dumping it into the waterways. Not only does this create water that is unsafe for people to drink, it sickens the fish as well.

The government has been aware of industrial pollution for many years and has enacted laws with fines for those who continue to pollute the water. The problem is that the laws are not enforced, so it continues to be a problem. Everyone needs to learn how to prevent water pollution, and those who are responsible for polluting our waterways need to be made to stop. Of course, making them stop means teaching them safer ways to dispose of the materials they currently dump in the waterways and enforcing the laws that are already on the books forbidding the dump of waste into the water.

Other problems with water pollution include boaters who dump their trash into the water instead of carrying with them to shore. The biggest issue on that end is dumping of waste from portable toilets from boats and even some airplanes into the ocean instead of properly disposing of it. All of these things contribute to water pollution, and if we don't learn how to prevent water pollution, we will no longer have fish in our water. It's time everyone took the time to do what needs to be done in order to insure that our resources will not continue to be depleted.
